Promoting sustainable community development and improving the lives of young people.
WHO WE ARE
The Bowland Charitable Trust was established in 1985. We aim to promote sustainable community development and help to improve outcomes for children, particularly from rural backgrounds. Many of our staff members were born in rural areas and some live there still, giving them first-hand experience of the variety of the challenges faced there.
WHAT WE DO
The Bowland Charitable Trust has a variety of projects running throughout Meghalaya, particularly in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills. Designed in consultation with rural communities, our projects aim to tackle issues which limit development and opportunities in villages in a meaningful way, empowering groups to take control of their future.
